DID YOU KNOW?
The design of the 50 state flag was created by a Boy Scout?
in 1958, high school junior and Boy Scout from Troop 113 in Ohio, Bob Heft completed a homework assignment by designing a flag to show 50 stars. (At that time Hawaii and Alaska had not yet become states.)
After petitioning Washington, President Eisenhower called to personally invite Bob to stand with him at the official adoption of his flag on July 4th, 1960.
